A tranquil family run peaceful retreat set in five acres of rural Wales, our select park is seven miles south of Lampeter off the A482. The park is ideally placed for those seeking a quiet relaxing holiday escape with beaches at Cardigan Bay and Carmarthen Bay within easy driving distance. Summer evening skies bring amazing sunsets and after dusk the park sleeps under the stars. Our park is an excellent location for those planning a holiday or a short break in Wales. We have large pitches for tourers and campers all with electric hook-ups. Those wishing to visit regularly during the summer may prefer to have a seasonal touring pitch or a static caravan with accommodation that is more spacious, paved patio, grass area for relaxation and car parking space alongside. A static caravan of your choice either new or pre-owned can be purchased from an extensive range offered by our approved supplier. If you already own a static caravan it may be possible to relocate to our park. The toilet amenities have hot water to washbasins, showers and for washing-up. The laundry room has a deep Belfast sink, coin operated washing machine and tumble dryer. Other facilities include bottled gas sales, toilet tank waste/grey water disposal point, icepack freezing, hardstandings, a post box near the park entrance, tourist information and local walking routes. The quiet country lanes are perfect for cyclists or for horse riders, with a local riding stable near the village. It is a good base for walkers, both for the serious enthusiast or those who prefer a gentle stroll. Nature lovers will notice the fresh air, with the scent of honeysuckle and wild flowers from the hedgerows. The open field views provide bird watchers with the ideal spot to observe Red Kites which frequent the area; others are content to listen to the birdsong or are amused by the young lambs in nearby fields. Local lake and river fishing is nearby and there are golfing facilities throughout the county. Those with artistic talents may wish to draw, paint or photograph the outstanding scenery. Brechfa Forest Mountain Bike Centre is ten miles away with trails suitable for all the family. Ffarmers village is under a mile with a post office and a pub which has a widespread reputation for its excellent restaurant, bar snacks and take-away meals. A petrol station/general convenience store is five minutes drive. Visitors enjoy seeking out traditional Welsh villages, local markets, interesting little gift and antique shops, tearooms or one of many convivial pubs and restaurants. Larger towns offer modern stores, supermarkets, garden centres and leisure facilities with swimming pools. Local attractions: The Llyn Brianne reservoir - a large lake formed when the river was dammed as part of a hydro-electric scheme, now attracting hikers, cyclists and motorists to take in the spectacular views. Visit the nearby ancient Roman Dolaucothi gold mines and try panning for gold, or for garden lovers Aberglasney Gardens or the National Botanic Garden of Wales are a good choice. Bird watchers will enjoy the RSPB Reserve at Dinas or the Red Kite feeding station at Llanddeusant. The more energetic may wish to try the Brechfa Forest Mountain Bike trails or perhaps a gentle stroll around the village of Llandewi Brefi featured in the TV series ’Little Britain’. There are local walking routes and a good selection of tourist information brochures at the park, which cover a wide choice of interests catering for all ages and tastes. Holidaymakers can visit the beautiful sandy beaches of the West Wales coast with Llangranog, New Quay, Aberaeron to the west and Pembrey, Pendine, Amroth, Saundersfoot or Tenby to the south. Or . . . just stay at Maesbach and enjoy the silence ! ! ! Directions to the park: Postcode SA19 8EX. When approaching from the south, leave the A40 at Llanwrda and travel north on the A482. Pass through Pumsaint and continue for approx one mile. Cross over the river bridge and at the top of the hill take the right turn signposted to Ffarmers and the park. In the village of Ffarmers turn right at the Drovers’ Arms, follow the lane for about three quarters of a mile, Maesbach is found on the left. From the north leave Lampeter on the A482 going south; continue through Cwmann and Harford, passing Checkpoint Garage on the left. Take the left turn signposted to Ffarmers and the park and follow the directions above. Places of interest: Lampeter, Llandewi Brefi, Carmarthen, New Quay, Aberaeron, Newcastle Emlyn, Dolaucothi Roman gold mines, Llyn Brianne Reservoir, Red Kite feeding station Llanddeusant, Aberglasney Gardens, RSPB Reserve Dinas, National Botanic Garden of Wales, Brechfa Mountain Bike Centre. Other recreation: Quiet lanes for country walks, ideal for cycling, bird watching and glimpses of the Red Kite or relax by the sea at one of the many splendid beaches.
